Rating Your Mace Pepper Spray Product

When you are purchasing pepper spray take note of the percentage of pepper it contains. It should be at least 8%. Even more important is the Scoville Heat Unit Rating. A good pepper spray product should be at least 1.5 million to 2 million to qualify as law enforcement grade. Mace Pepper Spray has a rating of 2 million SHU. If the manufacture does not include the SHU (Scoville Heat Units on his product a red flag should go up. It is most likely low quality pepper spray.
